Infinix caters for sub-Rs. Half the price of 10,000 in India and its series of Smart Smartphones. These models are expensive and usually pack with the right amount of hardware for the price, so when Infinix announces that its Smart 5 price is just Rs. 7,199, I was curious to see what it included. Surprisingly, even at this competitive price, the new Infinix Smart 5 packs with a larger 6.82-inch display and pack with a larger 6,000mAh battery. Here is my first look at the new Infinix Smart 5.
While the price of the Smart 5 comes with a budget, displaying this big one is not very common in this category, and it helps make Smart 5 stand out. You get HD + resolution in Smart 5, which is not ready for the size of the panel. There are dense bezels on the Smart 5 too, but if you look at the price of the smartphone, there is no reason to complain.
The large display has a 20.5: 9 factor ratio that makes the phone longer but smaller. I found it hard to reach the top of the screen while using the Smart 5 with one hand. Infinix bent the back panel at the edges to make this phone comfortable to hold and hold.
You get a plastic body, while Infinix offers Smart 5 in four colors to choose from: Aegean Blue, Obsidian Black, Morandi Green, and 7 ° Purple. I have an Aegean Blue wing too. The back panel is shiny, making this a finger magnet, and I found myself wiping the back of the smartphone several times. The back panel has a flow pattern that appears when the light strikes it at an angle.
There is a set of two cameras in the back corner, but it is designed to look like a triple camera set. The camera module always glows with the back panel and does not cause the smartphone to move when stored on a table. There is a 13-megapixel main camera and depth sensor. The Smart 5 has a fingerprint sensor installed in the back but I have found that its position is slightly higher than good, so it needs to be easily accessible. Quick to unlock Smart 5.
Another highlight of the Infinix Smart 5 is the large 6,000mAh battery. While this should help with battery life on the smartphone, it saves the phone at 207g. Weight loss will be followed by fatigue and constant tiredness. There is a 10W charger in the box and the phone has a Micro-USB port at the bottom for charging. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a main microphone at the bottom, while the top is empty. Smart 5 has dual Nano SIMs slots and a MicroSD card slot dedicated to expanding storage.
The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G25 octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz. You also get 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, and nothing different. Infinix sold the phone for Rs. 7,199 making it accessible to more people on a tight budget.
Depending on the software, it runs XOS 7 over Android 10, and had a November security clip for Android but received an update to the December security clip just after I removed it from the box. The phone has pre-installed bloatware but I have not seen spammy notifications in my short time so far.
So, has Infinix cut corners anywhere, given the price and price of brands? I will be including the Smart 5 in all our tests to find out. Stay tuned to Gadgets 360 for the full update.
