Skate City disrupted us early last year, when it came to Apple Arcade. Now, it's back to the second run, but this time, it's in comfort. Does conversion make sense? The video game registration service for the iPhone maker brought many games from a variety of genres - all free to play and without ads. Skate City was actually one of the first games I tried out of the Arcade collection, and I was very surprised. Skate City sounded like an endless zen runner with touch screen controls that were very easy to identify, with a combination of music and visuals that really made you feel comfortable while playing the game. The developers of Oslo Agens have brought the game to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S / X, Nintendo switch, and PC, but they want gamers to charge $ 15 (approximately Rs.
After trying Skate City on my PS4, it’s hard to see why people would want to do that. Here's what you need to know about the game.
Skate City Gameplay: Very common
If you've ever played Skate City in an Apple Arcade, you'll have a good idea of what to expect from a game in the console - there's no significant difference between the two versions. For the uninitiated, Skate City is a side-by-side skateboarding game where you control a custom character through obstacles lined with obstacles and esplanades of Los Angeles, Oslo and Barcelona. By default, Los Angeles will be available to you and you can open two other cities as you play.
In each city, you can choose between an “Endless Skate” or a challenge. In Endless Skate, you get to slide across the city map in an endless loop. You gain points by doing tricks. Skate City controls are very easy to take back. You can make eollies, nollies, and a variety of classic skateboarding techniques by clicking the analogue sticks left and right in different places. In the PlayStation control, tapping the “X” button will help you increase speed, while holding the “O” button will allow you to work harder. While in the air, pressing the L1 or R1 shoulder buttons will allow you to navigate the desired directions to find other tricks. Pressing the L2 or R2 trigger buttons allows you to enter or exit the manual. Grinding a bench or a nearby railroad, all you have to do is jump over the air.
If (and when) you get tired of Endless Skate, you can choose from a set of challenges for each city. Challenges range from Callout (where you do some tricks on the screen), Beach Race (running with an AI rival) or LAPD (passing a tough cop). Challenges are named differently in different cities, as the LAPD Challenge on the map of Los Angeles is called the High Stakes of the Barcelona map. However, the basic gameplay equipment remains the same even if it is a moniker.
Like many other runners, Skate City starts off easily and becomes even stronger as you remove challenges. However, even if walking is difficult, you can still manage the game within a few practice by keeping time with your smooth running. Even Super Mario Bros. takes the skills and time to improve. This one does not.
You earn points by pulling tricks and clearing challenges. These points, called “Skater Cash” (SC), can be used to buy new hair styles, T-shirts, shadows, and shoes for your character alongside country stickers, colored wheels, and custom trucks on your ice skating board. Skater Cash can also be used to unlock special locations and strategies such as Impossible or Benihana. While playing Skate City, you can start recording at any time. When the recording is stopped, you get the opportunity to sell your video to “sponsors,” who will reward you with Skater Cash, depending on how “cool” your performance is.
The collection of Skater Cash is not very difficult. I was able to open both Oslo and Barcelona after completing a few challenges and goals in less than three hours. There is no microtransaction within Skate City from now on and you can only unlock items using the Skater Cash you lead in the game.
Skate City Graphics: It leaves much to be desired
Skate City looks great on my iPhone screen. It immediately reminded me of another zen runner, Alto's Adventure, from Skate City publisher Snowman. I was hoping that the game would look even better on the TV screen, enhanced by the power of the PS4 graphics. Sure, the PS4 is the last one, but this is the first mobile game with cartoon graphics we're talking about. Sadly, the developers couldn’t improve here as Skate City looks exactly what it looks like on a mobile screen. You can play Skate City on Apple TV - included with Apple Arcade for Rs. 99 per month.
As far as you're concerned, it's still a good looking game. Day / night cycles and a whole color palette are surprisingly eye-catching. However, I was expecting a lot from Skate City given its already solid foundation in the Apple Arcade. But for PS4, it sounds like playing any other mobile game thrown on the big screen.
And unlike many other games, Skate City has never encouraged you to customize your character. So, somehow, you can finish the whole game without hitting the custom menu.
Review of Skate City
Skate City is a long way from the big skateboarding game out there. It lacks the high adrenaline gameplay and bigger than the health challenges found in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series. And it doesn't have any bugs and bugs that can make it a fun song on the Skate 3 lines. It doesn't even have many online or offline players at least to enjoy the game with a friend. Alas, I can't justify the $ 15 game price tag, especially when the best games like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 are available for more.
